Here ya go!
1.5 lbs ground beef
1 – 1.75oz packet of chili mix (Old El Paso, Taco Bell, etc.) (more if you want it spicier)
3 – 15oz cans of tomato sauce
1 – 15oz can of diced tomatoes
2 – 30.5oz Bush’s Chili Hot Kidney Beans (or any brand)
Shredded cheese, onion, sour cream … whatever you like for topping!
In a pot or deep skillet, brown the ground beef and drain off any fat. Add to this the packet(s) of chili seasoning and mix well. Add tomatoe sauce, diced tomatoes, chili beans, and mix well.
Let chili simmer on medium-low heat for 1 hour (the longer you let it simmer the better the flavor). You can heat this up with some Tabasco or hot sauce.

Answer by MOM KNOWS EVERYTHING
Ground beef, chopped onion, canned tomatoes, canned beans (kidney beans, great northern white beans, black beans, or any combination you like.)
Salt, pepper, chili powder.
Those are all the ingredients you need for a basic chili
Brown the beef and onions, drain the fat. Add the tomatoes and spices. Simmer for a couple hours. Add the beans, Simmer another half hour. Adjust seasonings. Serve. You can use whatever proportions of meat, onions, tomatoes and beans suits you. You can add chopped chili peppers, green peppers, or dried red pepper flakes to change the taste. Or use a little liquid red pepper sauce (tabasco, etc.) if you want it hotter.

I buy the kit at my grocery store (about 2 bux) & add a few extra things to make it my own (ex: i add 1/2 ground beef & 1/2 spicy italian sausage instead of all beef) and a few extra spices.
Answer by rich_the_tuna
The simplest recipe I know is as follows:
One big can of red kidney beans
2 regular sized cans of brown beans (in your choice of sauce, I like tomato)
1 big can of diced/crushed/whole tomatoes
1 lb ground beef, browned and broken up
1 packet chili seasoning
You can add for more flavour:
Sliced mushrooms from the can
Salsa
some sort of beef, sliced thin and browned instead of ground beef
jalapeno peppers. You can remove the white veins and seeds inside to make them much milder.
Just pour everything into a crock pot and slow cook for the day. It’s cheap, it’s easy, it’s chili.

The only 3 ingredients that are not optional –
Meat
Chili powder
A thikener like corn tortilla’s, corn starch or corn chips.
Simple Recipe.
2 lbs Beef – any kind gound or cut up steak or stew meat – or any cut up meat will work.
1 12 oz Can Beef or chicken broth or onion soup or bullion cube & water.
1 Onion chopped
1 tablespoon PAprika
1 tablespoon Chili powder
1 teaspoon Cumin
1 teaspoon Oregano
1/3 cup or more – Pace picante sauce (or other mild salsa or none)
2 or 6 tablespoons Steak sauce – any kind.
3 or 6 tablespoons Ketchup
1 or 2 tablesoons KItchen Bouquet (OK this one most people don’t have but it’s optional and gives a rich and dark color)
If you don’t have kitchen bouquet add – 2 teaspoons chocolate syrup and 1/2 teaspoon vinegar.
Hot sauce to taste.
Salt & Pepper to taste (if you used bullion or instant soup no extra salt will be needed)
Cook meat and onions – drain some grease off – if you used a greasy meat.
Turn fire to low.
Add spices then sauces and 1 little water – stir.
Add broth slowly to cover the meat – stir.
Simmer a while on Med to low – 10-20 minutes til done and it looks like a watery chili. Stir often.
And add more of the spices from above if you want to.
Then add 1 or more of the following to thicken it to your desired thickness.
Corn tortilla’s -2-5 of them torn up into little pieces.
Masa HArina – couple of tablespoons.
Corn Chips 3 big handfuls crunched up.
Corn Starch – couple tablespoons – mix in little bit of cold water first.
Flour – doesn’t work as good as a corn based thickener but…it would work in a pinch – mix with littel water first.
Cook another 10-15 minutes with lid & turn off and let sit 10-15 minutes….stir every few minutes.
Add 1 can of cooked pinto or kidney or black or chili beans – optional
Then serve on Rice, Cornbread, Pasta or plain – with cheese, corn, onions, sour cream or with nothing else.

LikeDislikeI will give you my award winning recipe…
1 1/2lbs dry pintos cooked slowly in crock pot for 24 hrs.
Use 2 whole onions, 1 bulb of garlic, 1 bunch of cilantro while cooking the beans…(chopped)
when beans are done add:
2 cans of diced tomatoes w/jalepenos (juice included)
Use 2 pkg of McCormick chili mix…
Add 1 1/2 lbs cooked ground beef with chili mix…
It’s that easy! I have won 3 chili cook-offs with this recipe and it is cheap to make and makes about a gallon and a half.
NOTE** you’ll want to vacate about a third of the bean juice (water)

LikeDislikeBuy Bloemer’s chili seasonings at your local grocery (if they have that brand). It usually takes alot of it to make the chili spicy.
Here’s how I make plain old chili:
1 lb ground beef (browned and drained)
1 can tomato or V8 juice
2 cans chopped/diced tomatoes
1 chopped onion (I like larger pieces)
1 chopped green pepper (if you want)
1 15-oz can of chili beans or kidney beans
1 pack of Bloemer’s chili powder (you might have to add more so buy 2 packs)
Salt and pepper to taste
Simmer until the onions and peppers are done.
If you make your chili too hot, add dollops of sour cream. You won’t taste the sour cream (the color of the chili will lighten – but that’s no biggie), and the milk fat in the sour cream will counteract the capsaicin in the chili powder.
Good luck!
P.S. Chili always tastes better the day AFTER it is made – the flavors mix together.

LikeDislike1 pound ground beef
1 onion chopped
1 can – 14oz tomato sauce
1 can – 14oz kidney beans
1 can – 14oz diced tomatoes (any kind plain or flavored)
1 packet chili seasons (like mc cormacks)
brown the beef and onion until the beef is cooked through
add the tomato sauce, beans, tomatoes, chili packet (as much as you want, i use whole thing) and then bring to simmer, and then let it cook for about 30 min.
That’s it! You can spice it up as you want with the mexican tomatoes, add jalopeno, etc.

LikeDislikeAll you need is a can of crushed tomatos, a few chilis (your grocery should have a mixture of fresh chilis near the peppers, normally only a $ 1 or so/pound), ground beef, salt and pepper, black and kidney beans and that is all!

LikeDislikeI love this recipe. You can make it as hot as you like. It’s easy and very very good.
Creole-Style ChiliSoups, Stews, Stoups & Chilis
ingredients1 box corn muffin mix
1 cup frozen corn, defrosted
2 tablespoons chili powder, divided
2 cups aged cheddar cheese, grated and divided
3 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil (EVOO)
3/4 pound andouille sausage, peeled
1 1/2 pounds of beef, veal, pork meatloaf mix
1 bay leaf
3 celery stalks, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
6 cloves garlic, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
5 thyme sprigs
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 bottle beer, lager style
1 cup chicken stock
1/3-1/2 cup hot sauce
1 28-ounce can diced, fire-roasted tomatoes
1 15-ounce can red beans (optional)
4 scallions, sliced
preparationPreheat oven according to instructions on the corn muffin mix box.
Butter an 8×8 baking dish and make corn bread according to package directions. Add the defrosted corn, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 cup of cheddar cheese and the honey, and bake according to the package.
To prepare the andouille, slice it lengthwise. Then, lay each half flat on the counter and slice it lengthwise again and chop it into 1/2-inch pieces. While the corn bread is baking, preheat a large dutch oven over medium-high heat with 2 turns of the pan of EVOO, about 2 tablespoons. Add the chopped andouille and cook stirring every now and then for 2-3 minutes.
Add the ground meat mixture to the pot, using the back of a wooden spoon to break up the meat as it browns.
Cook for about 5 minutes and then add the remaining tablespoon of chili powder, bay leaf, celery, onion, garlic, green bell pepper, thyme, salt and pepper, stirring frequently for about 5 minutes.
Add the beer, scraping up brown bits from the bottom of the pan, then the chicken stock and hot sauce, and cook for another minute. Add the tomatoes and beans and bring up to a bubble. Simmer for 15 minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving.
To serve, cut the corn bread into squares. Ladle a serving of chili into a bowl and place the corn bread squares on top. Sprinkle generously with remaining cheddar cheese and scallions.
Yields 4 servings
