Lately my boys have been very into my chocolate chip cookies –with a twist. They love them with white chocolate chips. Unfortunately for me, white chocolate contains dairy, so I do not partake of these delightful (probably overly sweet) treats. However, the boys and their friends gobble this white chocolate chip cookie recipe every time.

Question: I’m a bachelor looking for a simple recipe for chocolate chip cookies?
I only mention the fact that I’m a man living on his own so that you’ll really dumb it down for me…
I’m pretty sure I have everything I need, it’s just that those online recipe sites intimidate me (everything I try from them ends up tasting like dog food).

So can you tell me how? Chocolate chip or peanut butter would be awesome, or you can just recommend me one of yours.

It’s a + if you’re a Grama!
And thank you in advance.

I have one that i have cooked for years and everyone always says how much they love it. Off the top of my head i think its something like:

Makes 16
4oz plain flower
4oz self raising flower
6oz butter (room temp)
6oz caster sugar
a few drops of vanilla extract (optional)
2 oz coconut
5oz roughly chopped chocolate

1) pre heat oven to about 180′
2) mix the butter, sugar and vanilla together
3) sift in the flowers, then fold in the coconut and chocolate
4) get 2 baking sheets, Greece them good (with butter)
5) shape the mixture into the shape you want the cookies (they will spread while cooking)
6) put on baking sheets and cook for 15 mins then take out and put on wire rack to cool

Hey Mike, The bag of chocolate chips you have, flip it over. There is a recipe on the back of the bag. It has been around longer than you and I combined.
A few things to keep in mind.
1. Use of butter will give you a better tasting cookie.
Butter will also make the cookie a bit thinner and crisper.
Use of more brown sugar than white sugar will give you a thinner, crispier cookie.
2. Margarine will give you a softer puffier cookie.
More white sugar will give you a cookie that does not spread out as much.
3. Refrigerating the dough will give you cookie that will begin to set before it spreads out.
Don’t over bake the cookies.

I am a grandma. You are welcome.
